Revealing Non-Financial Value to Enhance Corporate Value

The importance of utilizing non-financial information is rapidly increasing, and there is growing interest not only in disclosure requirements but also in its use within companies. Under these circumstances, it is important how to reveal the value of a wide variety of non-financial information and link it to corporate value, and how to communicate it to multi-stakeholders.

In this session, Dr. Yanagi, a leading expert on non-financial value visualization,

will introduce the “Yanagi Model,” which links the invisible value of ESG to corporate value, and “impact-weighted accounting,” which grasps the impact of companies on society. A panel discussion will be held on the purpose and effects of this activity from corporate executives who are putting it into practice.

Dr. Yanagi was granted Ph.D. in economics from Kyoto University, Japan.
He is a certified management accountant and financial manager in the united states, and a licensed guide interpreter in English.
As a public official, he serves as a member of the TSE Listing System Improvement Council and a member of the 2021 G7 Impact Taskforce. His career includes a bank branch manager, manufacturer IR/Finance general manager, UBS Securities executive director, and Eisai senior executive officer and CFO (until June 2022) before assuming his current position. As a visiting professor at Waseda University Graduate School of Accountancy, he has been teaching for over 10 years.He received the Waseda University Teaching Award, President’s Award in 2017.From September 2022, he serves as co-director of the Waseda University Accounting ESG Course. According to Institutional Investor magazine, he was selected as the BEST CFO in Japan’s healthcare sector by investor voting 2022 (5th time).
