Expansion of Zone Design for Solving Social Issues

Breakouts

Japan is experiencing a decline in international rankings across various indicators, both at the national and regional levels. Despite global competition among liberal, authoritarian, and global South groups, efforts to improve Japan’s global standings lack specificity. The challenge lies in the continuous decline, particularly in the bottom layer, associated with the influence of religious and local factors known as “furusato power,” which prioritizes family and hometown over individual considerations. The perception of the family, influenced by Japanese gods, falls short of providing a global competitive advantage compared to Western gods. There is a pressing need to establish a contextual link from Japanese to global indicators, with an expectation for Japan to overcome handicaps in global competition by addressing the impact of religious influences and recognizing the significance of family and hometown in shaping its global standing.
