IHRP (Interdisciplinary Highschool Research Program)
A high school student living in Osaka
Attracted by the English education based on the liberal arts, I entered my current school. In the school, I was attracted to environmental issues. When I was in Grade 10, I tried growing vegetables in the school field and worked on environmental pollution as a club activity. Since I participated in the astrobotany research program, I am becoming interested in the relationship between plants and environmental pollution. Last year, I wanted to experience research, so I participated in the IHRP. I had the opportunity to attend lectures by experts from universities and other research institutions and learned about the studies of other high school students. Since I see many cigarette butts on the way to school, I am conducting experiments using radish and studying the effects of cigarettes on plant growth. In high school, I am taking the International Baccalaureate program and am studying Biology.
