Jointly Organized Session with ADSZZB
As the theme of a jointly organized session with The Association of Design about Strategy for Zone Industry and Zone Brand (a General Incorporated Association), this session is entitled “The Emergence of Value through Intangibilization: A Paradigm Shift from Manufacturing, Store Development, and Human Resource Development.” Members of the Regional Design Society will engage in discussions on topics including “Context Design in an Era of Intangibilization,” “Where Does Regional Value Emerge? — The Creation of Intangible Value through Boundary Integration,” and “The Design of Regions through Human–AI Co-Creation.”

He is a Professor at the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology and Director of the Startup Accelerator Research Institute. He completed his doctoral program at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, earning a Ph.D., and obtained a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) Sloan School of Management. He served as a long-term Overseas Research Fellow of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as a Visiting Researcher at MIT, and also held positions as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo and Professor at the Graduate School of Management, Kagawa University. His academic field is management studies. He is a leading scholar in regional management, which applies management theory to addressing regional and local challenges. He proposed the “IT Organizational Capability Dependence Theory” and the “Regional Value Chain” theory, which systematizes value linkages within regional economies.
